ABOUT KRHL

Kingston Regional Hospital Laundry was established in 1974 to provide centralized linen and laundry services for healthcare providers in Eastern Ontario. Today, KRHL is the primary supplier of these services to hospitals, long term care, rehabilitation centres and mental health facilities in southeastern Ontario. KRHL understands that its commitment to clients’ needs must be met regardless of chance interruptions. That’s why we maintain a 2½ day supply of clean linen on hand in our Kingston facility at all times, so our clients are served no matter what.

ONLINE ORDERING

Starting in January 2012, KRHL now offers an online ordering system to increase your productivity. Our new system allows you to place orders, check on current order status or make changes to your existing orders. We’ve put the power in your hands – you can access our system when it fits your schedule, 24 hours a day.

We pride ourselves on responding quickly to our clients’ changing linen needs. We maintain the highest standards by investing in people, quality products and a sophisticated production environment – our investment in our people enables us to assure you not only great service today, but also to meet your many requirements of tomorrow.

We work with our clients to streamline their linen expenses and achieve cost savings. Our experienced staff assists you by evaluating your procedures and suggesting ways to improve in-house efficiencies. We constantly strive to minimize overall costs of operation while maintaining service levels and quality.

By outsourcing their linen requirements, many of our customers have experienced benefits, such as space being made available for more important use; capital funding is no longer required for linen management; environmental waste is reduced to a minimum; and notable savings in gas, electricity, water consumption and other expensive direct costs. We have installed water, heat and energy-efficient equipment in our facility that allows them to use a fraction of utilities normally consumed by an on-site laundry.

QUALITY CONTROL STANDARDS AND THE ENVIRONMENT

KRHL’s laundry facility is ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified, as well as being certified by HLAC (Healthcare Laundry Accreditation Council, www.hlac.net). We test our linen and monitor new textiles to ensure cleanliness control, whiteness, colour retention and tensile strengths. We have implemented measurable quality parameters to ensure our product quality and services are consistently adhered to.

Our facility operates under strict guidelines that have been set forth by suppliers, launderers and users of linen and equipment, along with the guidance and expertise of leaders in the health care, recycling and infection control fields. We work in partnership to provide you with an operation and product that is cost effective, aseptically clean, environmentally sound and energy efficient.
